The Many Pleasures of Marlborough
World-renowned for its award-winning Sauvignon-Blanc wines, there is so much more to this beautiful region which is why we are thrilled to introduce Marlborough’s new luxury accommodation and cruising options that invite visitors to stay a little longer.
Marlborough Lodge opened in November 2016 following an extensive renovation that witnessed the transformation of a former Bed and Breakfast (originally a convent, built in 1901 for the Sisters of Mercy in Blenheim) into a grand country estate offering 10 spacious, elegant and contemporary accommodation suites surrounded by 6.5 hectares of picturesque parklands, the Estate’s own vineyard and some of New Zealand’s most famous wineries (including Cloudy Bay, Villa Maria, Brancott Estate, Wither Hills and dozens more)
Guests of Marlborough Lodge can enjoy gourmet meals, daily garden and vineyard tours of the property, a couple of laps of the heated outdoor swimming pool or a hit of tennis at the neighbouring Rapaua Tennis Club.
Venturing further afield, the friendly professional staff can organise anything from winery tours, to heli-fishing, hunting or a spectacular cruise of the Milford Sounds aboard their luxury cruiser.
MV Tarquin is a 20 metre launch offering three ensuite cabins, spacious seating with chef prepared meals and itineraries from a few hours to a few days exploring the Queen Charlotte Sound or plying the waters of the Abel Tasman National Park for king salmon, mussels and oysters. Cruises can be tailored to incorporate a range of local activities from bushwalks and hikes to kayaking, fishing and on-board masterclasses with a local chef showcasing the region’s delicious produce.
