COVID-19 Travel Information - Updated 22 May 2020
COVID-19 and DOMESTIC TRAVEL
COVID-19 travel restrictions are easing in Australia and New Zealand. Domestic travel is now possible in many parts of the region and Southern Crossings are helping to introduce locals to the many treasures right here in our own backyards. We have created a collection of sample itineraries and special offers, curated especially to inspire locals to explore Australia and New Zealand's many local treasures.
COVID-19 and INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL
In response to COVID-19, Australia and New Zealand’s borders are currently closed to international visitors. International travel to Fiji and the islands of the South Pacific is also currently restricted to citizens of these countries.
Having had no active cases of COVID-19 since 29 May 2020 (and a total of just 60 confirmed cases and no deaths), French Polynesia will open its borders to welcome international visitors from 15 July 2020. Visitors will be required to:
- Have had a negative test for Covid-19 within 72 hours of travel to French Polynesia,
- Provide authorities on arrival with their itinerary and contact details for the duration of their stay in the country,
- Take out international travel insurance.
Masks are recommended but not mandatory where social distancing cannot be guaranteed.
Visitors may be required to (randomly) undergo COVID-19 testing four days after arrival in the country.
see Tahiti Tourisme for further details.
This information will continue to be updated as government advice and regulations change (please also refer to the links below for the current government information in each destination).
In the meantime, the Southern Crossings travel design teams are ready to help you start planning your dream vacation to our region for when international borders reopen; and we look forward to being able to welcome you back to our beautiful part of the world again soon.
