Terms and Conditions

Southern Crossings - Terms and Conditions Upon confirmation of arrangements we require a 25% deposit to secure all held arrangements. Final payment is required 30 days prior to commencement of travel. Our preferred method of payment is by bank/wire transfer or bank draft. Alternatively, we do accept American Express, MasterCard and Visa.

Cancellation fees may apply. Deposits are refundable in full up until 30 days prior to arrival in New Zealand, Australia or the South Pacific whilst more stringent peak period terms and conditions can apply. After such time cancellation fees may be incurred depending on the accommodation confirmed in the itinerary. If overnight guided walks are confirmed on the itinerary then cancellation fees will apply from the date these arrangements are booked. Please note small boutique lodgings have very stringent cancellation policies that apply if cancellation advice is received within the period notified by the service provider, unless suitable supporting medical/legal evidence can be produced forbidding travel. Every attempt is made to recover such costs but properties where rooms are not resold will incur charges.

Such conditions are at the discretion of the individual operators. Please note that if cancellation is made within 7 days of arrival at a property, especially a small lodge or bed & breakfast property, clients can face up to full cancellation fees. Clients are strongly advised to protect themselves against loss of deposit, cancellation charges, medical expenses or loss of personal possession by way of comprehensive travel insurance taken out in country of origin.

The client accepts that Southern Crossings at all times acts only as an agent for all accommodations, airlines, excursion and transport operators, and that Southern Crossings is not liable in relation to any of these principals’ services. All bookings are made subject to the terms and conditions and limitations of liability imposed by service provider principals. Southern Crossings excludes liability for the supply of all leisure and recreational services.

For US passport holders a visitor's visa is not required for New Zealand, however for Australia clients with a US or EU passport require a visitor’s visa. To hire a rental vehicle a current and valid US or EU drivers licence is required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR UK CLIENTS TRAVELLING TO AUSTRALIA

Visitors who require a tourist visa of up to three months can get an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) that replaces the usual visa stamped in your passport. ETA's are issued by the airline or tour operator when you make your reservation and, although some may charge a nominal fee, the major airlines and tour operators offer them free of charge.
