Acacia Cliffs Lodge

Perched high on a ridge above Lake Taupo, secluded yet only minutes from town, this unique, architecturally designed boutique lodge, accommodates eight guests in four super-king suites. The three lake view suites open to private decks commanding grandstand views of the lake and mountains, while the garden suite offers the added luxury of a sumptuous free standing bath and a tranquil garden courtyard setting. Each has its own private deck or courtyard, spacious modern en-suite, contemporary décor and the little touches that show you’re somewhere very special.


Complementary wine, gourmet coffees, teas and refreshments, pre-dinner canapes and drinks and sumptuous breakfasts are included in the tariff while four course evening meals are available by arrangement with menus that change daily based on the freshest seasonal produce. Kinloch Club, NZ's only Jack Nicklaus course is 20 minutes by car and is an unforgettable golfing experience. Wairakei International Golf Course is only 15 minutes drive away. The Par 72 championship course is nestled in 450 acres of rolling hills and mature trees - Rick and Linda are active members of the club and can arrange local partners for a round.

hikingHiking & Walking The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is rated one of the best one day treks in NZ and is listed by many as a must do. The 8 hour trek takes in 17 kms of mountainous terrain and climbs 1900 metres above sea level, crossing Mt Ngauruhoe and Mt Tongariro for some breath-taking scenery.

festivalsFestivals & Sporting Events The Lake region hosts the International Ironman, NZ's biggest one day annual event and the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge with 10,000 riders completing the 160kms around Lake Taupo.
