Rotorua

One look at a menu anywhere in this part of the world will tell you that the fishing has got to be good!

Whether fishing for the table, hunting marlin from a luxury launch or stalking wild run trout in the crystal clear water systems in New Zealand, it’s an angler's paradise, offering some of the best opportunities for fishing in a collection of beautiful locations.

The trophy sized catch of brown and rainbow trout in the famous lakes and rivers around Rotorua, Lake Taupo region, Nelson Lakes and back country rivers of the South Island attract anglers from around the globe.

The Bay of Islands and Bay of Plenty are a big game fisher’s playground. The glacial formed lakes and rivers of Otago and Southland are brimming with salmon in season; whilst the coastal beaches throughout the country are great for coastal fishing.

Australia also offers countless places across the continent to cast a line and pull out a delicious smorgasboard of seafood delights, but the list of angling highlights would have to include the well stocked Tasmanian rivers for the famed Tasmanian trout, helifishing for barramundi in the Kimberley or a game fishing expedition in Far North Queensland.

There are plenty more places to try your luck right across the Pacific Isles – try saltwater fly fishing in the Cook Islands, sports-fishing off Fiji’s Coral Coast, deep sea fishing for prize winning swordfish, marlin, tuna and mahi mahi in Tahiti or simply throw a line in with the locals in Samoa.
