Inspired by the historical Graham Glacier Hotel, Franz Josef Glacier Country Retreat is set in 200 acres of peaceful farmland, looking towards Lake Mapourika, near the Franz Josef village centre with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

Each of the 10 rooms and 2 suites have been individually decorated and profile local pioneers. All accommodation is centrally heated with excellent facilities and open out onto balconies with Lake or Mountain views. The Honeymoon Suite, located in the tower, has commanding panoramic views of the unique West Coast scenery.

The restaurant offers sumptuous local cuisine along with a good selection of New Zealand wines after which guests can relax near the cosy open fireplace in the guest lounge or outside fireplace on summer evenings.
