This Heritage-listed Georgian mansion was built by convict labor in 1825. Evidence of convict construction features in many of the suites and rooms. Hand made bricks, pit-sawn timbers and the rich patina of the original blackwood floors creates a wonderful sense of living history.
Each of the nine suites is unique, featuring modern furnishings, commissioned art works, rich fabrics and modern technology alongside original timbers, 13 open fireplaces and shuttered windows.
The level of appointment is luxurious, and this, together with personalised service, the riverfront setting and the elegance of the rooms and suites, creates the ultimate ”Woodbridge Experience”. No other property in Australia provides such a combination of convict authenticity, modern luxurious accommodation and a level of personal service that only a small intimate hotel can provide.
